Journalist among two killed in traffic accident





Two people including a Koh Santepheap journalist were killed in traffic accident on Wednesday in the province of Battambang.

The accident which took place in the Prey Svay commune of Moung Russey district occurred when the 12-seater van owned by the Cambodia Red Cross rear ended a bus.

Before the accident, the Red Cross-owned van laden with journalists was on route to cover an event where Hun Sen’s first lady Bun Rany provided assistance to flood-affected victims in the province of Battambang.

Military police commander Brigadier Por Vannak said that the Koh Santepheap journalist along with the driver was killed instantly, while four of the five victims were seriously injured.

The journalist killed in the accident was identified as Ty Ouy Song and the journalist wounded was Sruoy Nika from the Rasmei Kampuchea newspaper.
